We implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum with an emphasis on active learning. Our programs are based on the individual, emotional, social, physical and intellectual development of each child. They are designed to facilitate the development of self-confidence so that children may approach learning as fun and actively search for information and solutions to problems. Because we believe that the process of learning is more important than the content. Learning activities are designed to emphasize the experiences children are having rather than the product. Children are constantly encouraged to express themselves, in large groups, in small groups, and individually through the choices they make.
Our educational approach is child-centered. This simply means that children are passionate about their interests and we use those interests to teach skills.
Our curriculum offers 8 activity centers: Arts/Crafts; Science/Nature; Library/Reading; Outdoor Play; Blocks; Math/Manipulatives; Dramatic Play and Music. Children choose to work in different centers at certain times throughout the day, exercising personal choice and responsibility. They are learning through what is called "active play." |
